I loaded all of the files into the style directory and all of them show up in MS Word 2013 except MHRA. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Yves.

I've just bought and installed MS Office 365 and when I try to use the ABNT_Author style, it doesn't appear in the row of applied stiles.

I've already put the ABTN_Author.XSL file on both paths:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\Bibliography\Style and
C:\Users\Cirilo\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Bibliography\Style, but Word doesn't load the style.

Is there any other solution? Thanks.

I just got it working using this path: %AppData%\Microsoft\Templates\LiveContent\15\Managed\Word Document Bibliography Styles (just copy and paste this on the address bar of Windows Explorer)!

Hello,

when I run BibWordExtender2 and press "extend" button (word 2013 docx file) error occurs "Bibliography extension failed" (see attached screenshot) and nothing happens.

Do you have any idea what's wrong?

Styles

Latest version of all styles

Introduction

The main goal of this project is to collect and maintain a number of bibliography styles which can be used by Microsoft Word 2007 and later. Most styles are either created using BibWord or derived from the styles which come with Microsoft Word.

Each family of styles comes with its own release page. Whenever bugs are fixed or new types are added, the same release gets updated.

Everybody who wants to submit a style can do so by contacting one of the project coordinators. The only requirement for putting a style on the project page, is that you release your style under the MIT license. That basically allows people to do whatever they want with your style as long as they give you credit for it.

Supported styles

The following list contains an overview of the current set of styles:

You can download a zip file containing all styles from here.

Installation on Windows (Word 2007/2010/2013)

To use the bibliography styles, they have to be copied into the Microsoft Word bibliography style directory. This directory can vary depending on where Word is installed:
Word 2007
<winword.exe directory>\Bibliography\Style
On most 32-bits machines with Microsoft Word 2007 this will be:

    %programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office12\Bibliography\Style
Once the styles are copied to the directory, they will show up every time Microsoft Word is opened.
Word 2010
<winword.exe directory>\Bibliography\Style
On most 32-bits machines with Microsoft Word 2010 this will be:

    %programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\Bibliography\Style
Once the styles are copied to the directory, they will show up every time Microsoft Word is opened.
Word 2013
<user directory>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Bibliography\Style
On most machines with Micrososft Word 2013 this will be:

    %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Bibliography\Style
Once the styles are copied to the directory, they will show up every time Microsoft Word is opened.
Word 365
    %AppData%\Microsoft\Templates\LiveContent\15\Managed\Word Document Bibliography Styles
Once the styles are copied to the directory, they will show up every time Microsoft Word is opened.

Remark: the types.xml included with the stylesheets should be used in combination with BibType to create some extra fields for the different types.

Installation on Mac OS X (Word 2008)

To use the bibliography styles, right-click on Microsoft Word 2008 and select show package contents. Put the files in:

    Contents/Resources/Style/
On most Macs with Microsoft Word 2008 this will be:

    /Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Microsoft Word.app/Contents/Resources/Style/

Hello,

I'm trying to create a style for SAA, which groups works by the same author together by date, e.g.,

Indiana Jones
1930 A Phase I Investigation of the Ark...
1935 The Holy Grail

I see in the default stylesheet a comment that "SameAuthors" isn't implemented, which Word uses for the em-dashes in styles like Chicago which also list an author only once. Has anyone created a bibliography in BibWord that does this? It looks like in the default word, they have an index of authors and then check the current author against the previous item in the index, but I don't see anything like that implemented in BibWord. Thanks.

I have a problem with um Style Bibligrafia. I had to create for the faculty where I teach. The bibliography style is based in Brazilian ABNT, because I'm in Brazil. ABNT is based on APA.

The style that I created for Word 2010. But over ara some students file using Word 2013, but in 2013 my style is not recognized.

You need to add some line, some code in the xsl file, Word 2013 to recognize the style?

Word 2013 requires a couple of new elements in a style to be recognized.

The easiest way to 'upgrade' your style is to download the latest template version from here .

In both styles, find the data variable (<xsl:variable name="data">...</xsl:variable>) . Replace the one in the template you downloaded with the one from your style for Word 2010. The new style should now work in all versions of Word up to Word 2013.

I have the same issue. I have been trying to get word 2011 (MAC) to accept the xsl file I use within word 2010 on my pc. I copy the file in to the correct place for a MAC but it doesn't appear. Is there something I need to change?

I have also tried to put it in word 2011 for pc but it doesn't work here either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt it is the same issue. Styles working Word 2010 for Windows should work in Word 2011 for Mac. Are you sure they are not showing up? There is a bug in Word for Mac. See FAQ

There is no Word 2011 for pc (Windows). There is a Word 2013 and 365. For those, the stylesheet needs to be updated. Information can be found in this discussion forum.

Thanks for the reply Yves.

The XSL file works fine in word 2010 my apologies. It is in word 2011 (MAC) which I cant get it to work. I cant seem to find the bug in which you are talking about could you point me in the right direction then I can make the necessary changes for the university students. It definitely doesn't appear in the MAC version, I will make the changes so that it works on 2013.

Could you point me in the right direction, or paste the changes here I need to make so that the MAC version can see it (you talk about a bug). Is this something which I can change quickly?

I have a problem with the bibliography display. The first column number does not displayed correctly. I found the problem was that it is displayed as a table with two columns. The first column width is 0.25". Since I uses a larger font, it is too narrow. If I format it using Table layout to increase to 0.35" or wider, it will be fine. Is there anyway to change it in the style sheet so I don't have to do this every time manually? Thanks.

Hi,

I have been trying to configure a university reference style to work on word for Mac 2011. I have pasted the xsl file in to the word style file in programme files but it still doesn't appear after a restart of both the programme or the pc.

It works perfectly within word 2010. Has anybody else been able to overcome this problem so that I could get this working as soon as possible. The style is a university modified version of Havard specifically designed for the university.

Are you sure it is not picked up? Check if the style exists for citations instead of bibliographies. There is a known bug in different Word for Mac versions. Also see the FAQ.

Look in the source for
<td align="{$params/bibliography/source[@type = $type]/column[@id = $columnId]/halign}" valign="{$params/bibliography/source[@type = $type]/column[@id = $columnId]/valign}">
If you can update the td to use a fixed (or percentual) width in case of column id = 1, you might be able to get what you want.

Note that I have not tested this at all.

Dear all

I'm facing an issue with the ABNT standard. When I try to use an Document from Internet site, either a citation or on Biography, it shows this message:

Unsupported source type (DocumentFromInternetSite) for source Xxx##


If I change to APA it works flawlessly. But I need ABNT.

Is there any place in the code (ABNT_Author.XSL) where can I change or add something so I can fix it? Or any update?

The file I've got has this Header:
