I'm using a Harvard-type stylesheet to edit an article which has French sources.
Diacritic marks output fine in the bibliography, but do not in the citations.

First, power off your Cisco 2960 switch by unplugging its cord. As you reconnect the switch to the power source, press and hold the "Mode" button. On Cisco 2960 switches, this button is located on the front of the switch, on the left hand side.
After three seconds, the LED above the button should change from amber to green and start blinking. You are supposed to hold down the button until the light stops flashing. Release the button.
After you had done those steps, you can reset your password.

I'm using a Harvard-type BibWord stylesheet to edit an article which has French sources.
Diacritic marks output fine in the bibliography, but do not in the citations.
This is what I get:

FIXED (kinda) in 64 bit edition of word fo office 365!
I eventually found a phone number and got through to MS tech support. Uninstalled office 365. Re installed the 64 bit edition of Office 365 (MS hide this under the "languages and advanced options" link). Ran Update citations and bibliography on the problem doc. It ran for 3 hours and I watched the winword process go up to 3.2 Gb for a while.
But it completed WITHOUT CRASHING!!
Therefore it is the memory limit in the 32 bit app that is making it fall over, BUT there has to be a smarter way to code this transaction both from a memory use standpoint and a performance standpoint.
Along the way, MS confirmed that the renaming the undo via a macro does not in fact disable the undo stack in word versions post 2003, so I was on-the-money blaming the bloated undo stack.
I eventually found a phone number and got through to MS tech support. Uninstalled office 365. Commented Unassigned: Update citations and Bibliography Hanging [11212]
I have a large document in Word 2007, with approximately 900 citations.
Every time I attempt to "update citations & bibliography" it hangs.
I have run it in word safe mode. I have run the pc in safe mode. I have run it without backup, without autosave, without antivirus. I have disabled screensavers. I ran the office repair - no change. All to no avail.
It takes several hours to fall over, and the couple of times I watched the winword process memory usage, i saw it fall over at about the same memory use - about 1.8Gb. This computer still shows only 60% memory used so it's not like it's running out of RAM/swap space. It's behaving like an internal coding hard-limit on memory allocation was reached.
All the event viewer shows me is:
Faulting application winword.exe, version 12.0.6668.5000, stamp 5083137f, faulting module mso.dll, version 12.0.6662.5000, stamp 4fd67dd1, debug? 0, fault address 0x00b12066.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Is this fixed in Word 2010 or 2013?
Does anyone have any suggested workarounds?

Hi,
I've been using this macro for some time but it seemed to not work anymore when I upgraded to the Ms Office 2013.
I use two of these macros hand in hand, the one which applies the styles for a superscript tag and the other to convert it to static text. The first macro still works but whenever I try to convert it to static text, it doesn't work. Could anyone advice me on this?
